OPTIMIZE
Make better money decisions with less mental clutter.
Some financial decisions aren’t about earning or saving. They’re about choosing well when several reasonable options are competing for your money.
Why this matters
A handful of decisions each year account for most of what you spend outside the essentials — the car, the mortgage renewal, the big trip, the insurance you renewed without reading. Each one is worth more than months of small economies, and each is usually made under time pressure with incomplete information.
The difficulty is rarely the arithmetic. It is that the options arrive in different formats, from parties with an interest in the outcome, and comparing them properly takes an evening nobody has.
Where AI genuinely helps
Major purchases
A car, a roof, a laptop, a holiday: the sticker price is the part everyone compares, and it is rarely the part that decides. Financing, running costs, resale, warranty and how long you will actually keep it matter more, and they are tedious to line up. That assembly work is worth delegating.
Rewards and points
Points programmes are deliberately hard to compare. Working out what a balance is genuinely worth against a specific redemption, rather than the number the programme advertises, is arithmetic nobody enjoys — and exactly the kind that pays for itself.
Travel decisions
Cash or points, direct or connecting, this week or next month. Travel decisions have too many moving parts to hold in your head at once, and laying the real trade-offs side by side is more useful than any single recommendation.
Everyday financial choices
Most everyday money decisions aren’t hard because the maths is difficult. They’re hard because the options are messy and half the trade-offs are unstated. Getting them written down in one place is usually when the answer becomes obvious.
What AI should not be trusted with
Rates, fees, redemption values and terms change constantly, and a model will state an outdated figure with complete confidence. Anything that determines the actual cost has to be confirmed against the provider before you commit.
It also has no view on what you value. Whether the shorter flight is worth the money, or the reliable car worth the premium, isn’t a calculation — it’s a preference, and it stays yours.
Better inputs. Better comparison. Human choice.
AI is useful when it helps organize complexity. It is much less useful when it confidently decides what matters most to you.
